Description

Endeavor Side View Comparison chart with different Sci-Fi vehicles. Still a work in progress. The Eagle is from Starlog #7; by Geoffrey Mandel. J2 is from that famous blueprint set of the 1980's. The Falcon also from a fan set produced in the `80's, (rumor has it Shane Johnson drew it). The Starfleet Shuttle is Franz Joseph's from the Tech Manual. I'm working on a side view of Thunderbird 2 for Dusty and an as yet plan on adding another, un-named, classic Sci-Fi vehicle you may see on TV during Halloween time. The Galactica Shuttle is by Jim Stevenson (137th Gebrig) and he granted me permission to use it here. All the others I stole, lol.

Scale issues abound in this gathering! The Eagle, as drawn by Mandel, was spec. as 76 ft. long. Roberto Baldassari set his Eagle at 102 ft. There's a version by Philip Rae's Eagle at 91 feet long and yet another by Allan Everhart Jr. at 150ft. See Roberto's web site for a nice dissertation on the Eagle:www.space1999.net/~eagle/index…. The Galactica Shuttle looks correct to me as does the J2 & the Starfleet Shuttlecraft. The Flash Gordon rocket ship seems a little big but I've seen stills of the full size prop and it does seem very large. I could still tweak it a bit. I could always have the door size wrong.

The Endeavor is a compilation of details I am adding up from Michael Golden's 12 issue run. Ultimately it is my interpetaion which is neither wrong nor right I guess.

I should say four, since I love the TARDIS as well...I usually don't think of it in the same sense as the other ships, though (even though it does travel through space as well as time)...LOL.
